How to Work the Platonink 4-Head DTF Printer as a Beginner
-
Get It Ready – Put the printer on a level surface, plug it into a 220V outlet, and make sure it has enough space around it.
-
Get Your Stuff Together – For the best results, use DTF Missouri PET film, hot-melt powder, and inks.
-
Prep Your Design – Save your design as a PNG with a see-through background. Load the PET film with the side meant to be printed facing up.
-
Load the Ink – Fill the CMYK and White ink tanks, and run a test to make sure the ink is coming out correctly.
-
Print – Send the design through the software. The printer will print the colors first, then the white, to make them really stand out.
-
Add Powder – Put hot-melt powder on the print while it’s still wet, shake off the extra, and then heat it at 100–120°C for 2–5 minutes.
- Heat Press – Let the transfer cool off, then press it onto the shirt at 160°C for 15 seconds.
A Few Things to Keep in Mind:
-
Clean the printheads every day to prevent clogging.
-
Keep the white ink flowing so it stays strong.
-
Check the ink levels and make sure everything is capped correctly.
-
Store the DTF Missouri inks in a cool, dark place so the colors stay good.
- Teach your staff how to set up and take care of the printer so you always get good results.
